At the beginning of december the best skaters in Poland met in Kętrzyn to fight for the title of “Polish Champion”. Slalom Academy was represented by 4 girls Nadia Jeziorek, Zosia Brzezińska, Marika Jeziorek and coach Klaudia Hartmanis.

 

Competition began on Friday with jump and Marika took part in it. Despite tiredness and sickness was fighting till the end and finished on high 4th place.

On Saturday was time for speed slalom, classic, pair slalom.
All juniors shown clean runs and did their best. Marika and Zosia qualified to KO, both bit personal best and finished on 7th and 8th position. 

In the meanwhile there was time for the additional category for kids – limbo skating. It’s not officially contest at Polish Championship but Nadia feels good at it and that’s why she decided to join it. She was unbeatable and won 1st place

Classic junior.
Nadia took part in this contest for the first time. She chose polish version of song  Żywogód Pauliny Przybysz. Smile on her face and really good performance with various o tricks you may watch here.
Her big sister Marika decided to create new run to the music Rather Be. It was risky decision and still needs some time to train, but it is a great step for further improvement and progress so was totally worth trying.

Great shape was presented by Zosia, who shown clean and dynamic run that matched tothe music well. Good performance gave her 1st place and in the same time her very first title of Polish Champion. This success gave our student even more power and motivation in next contests.
After juniors was time or classic of seniors, where our coach Klaudia took part. Despite few mistakes at the end of the day was pretty satisfied and defended title of Polish Champion. Her video.

We finished Saturday with spectacular and one of the most demanding contest pair classic, which is synchronised skating. Klaudia and Zosia chose good vibes and dynamic song Lush Life to which created nearly 3 minutes performance. You can watch full run here.

Despite the different levels and small experience of Zosia, both girls did really great. Almost no mistakes and good synchronisation brought another medal for Slalom Academy. It was very long and demanding day full of success and new experiences for all our girls.

Sunday was dedicated to battle. As first junior women performed. 

Nadia was fighting hard and shown 2 runs. She was really close to pass to the next round but this time it was not enough. However we are certain that involvement will pay off in the future. Marika similarly to sister was doing her best finishing 3rd in the group.

Zosia full of determination and focus was skating better and better in each group. She reached final where after 3 great runs and awesome last trick, where she did her record of 23 spins on chicken leg. She took 4th place but even though she didn’t get another medal she did her best and we notice huge progress and big potential.

In senior women Klaudia won one more gold medal adding another title of Polish Champion, which has already 13.

Summing up we can consider that event to really successful. Girls did their best and fighting till the last cone shown mettle. We are very happy  on results and precious experience, which drives new energy and motivation for hard trainings.
